Mission Statement
The primary mission of the Skagway Public Library is to serve as a reliable source of information for the community by acquiring, organizing, and disseminating information. The library supports the educational, civic, and cultural activities of the community, as well as, the intellectual and creative endeavors of the individual, to promote an enlightened citizenship and the enrichment of personal lives.

Status of the Skagway Public Library as of April 1, 2024
OPEN
Monday-Thursday: 10:00 am-7:00 pm
Friday: 10:00 am-6:00 pm
Saturday-Sunday: 12:00 pm-5:00 pm
For curbside service: Call, email, or go to skagway.biblionix.com to reserve your item. We will contact you when your item(s) is(are) ready to pick-up.
Wifi is available outside the library 10am-10pm.
Programs: Refer to the "Upcoming Events" and "Library Calendar" in the right hand column to see what's happening! Programming is in-person unless otherwise noted. Face masks are required inside the building when 6 feet distancing cannot be maintained.
Windy Valley Babies (Story Time) happens every Wednesday at 10:30 am inside the Library. Story Time is specially designed for ages 0-3.
Late Night Library takes place on select Friday nights at 6:00pm in the library. These evenings include crafts, game nights, special guests, and activities for young patrons in 5th grade and up!
Book Club meets monthly from October to April. Interested in reading with us? Check out the events in our calendar or call/stop by the library to ask about participating!
Passports: If you need to apply for a U.S. passport, Crystal Harris, our Library Assistant, is currently Skagway's only passport acceptance agent. Applications are accepted by appointment only and Crystal takes passport appointments Tuesday through Friday. Please call for an appointment or more information at 907-983-2665 or email library@skagway.org.
